July 28, 2025 by Amy Jo

Located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, Breathless Cabo San Lucas Resort & Spa is an all-inclusive resort within the Hyatt brand that is open only for adults. This coastal paradise attracts travelers with its blend of natural beauty, luxury resorts, and endless outdoor adventures, from snorkeling in crystal-clear waters to exploring iconic landmarks like El Arco.

Breathless Cabo San Lucas Resort & Spa Overview

Breathless Cabo San Lucas is one of the few all-inclusive resorts in Cabo that has a swimmable beach. It’s open only for adults and is located on Medamo Beach. It is also within walking distance of the marina, full of shops and restaurants.

There are two infinity pools: a smaller one in the main building and a larger one by the beach. As an all-inclusive resort, you don’t have to pay extra for your food or drinks. The mini-bar is stocked daily, and you can order room service 24 hours a day. Both the beach and the pool have wait service to provide you with drinks or meals.

Breathless Cabo San Lucas: Pros

The hotel offers a range of impressive features that elevate the guest experience from start to finish. From top-notch amenities to exceptional service, here are the standout pros of staying here.

✔️ Spacious Rooms with Balconies

The rooms at Breathless Cabo San Lucas are large and have plenty of space. Most of the rooms in the main building have a balcony that overlooks the marina and the plunge pool. The bathroom is quite large and contains a separate area for the shower and another separate area for the toilet with a counter with a double-sink in the middle.

✔️ Two Separate Pool Areas

Breathless Cabo San Lucas has two separate pools: a plunge pool in the main building by the bar and a larger pool in the second building closer to the beach. The plunge pool can get pretty busy during the day, so be sure to snag a lounge chair early. The other pool has plenty of lounge chairs for everyone.

✔️ Beach Access

Few of the resorts in Cabo, Mexico, have sandy beach access, let alone a swimmable beach. The beach at Breathless Cabo San Lucas is a great place to relax in the shade, order a pina colada, or take a dip in the ocean. We enjoyed having close access to the beach and did not have any problems finding a lounge chair with an umbrella.

✔️ Adults-Only Resort

If you’re looking for a resort away from young children and families, Breathless Cabo San Lucas is the resort for you. It’s an adults-only resort, so you won’t have to share the pool with anyone under the age of 18.

Breathless Cabo San Lucas: Cons

While the hotel delivers in many areas, there are a few drawbacks worth noting. Here are some of the cons that may affect your stay.

❌ Most Restaurants in a Separate Building

The biggest downside of Breathless Cabo San Lucas is the location of the second building, which houses most of the restaurants. To get there, you have to exit the first building, cross a parking lot, and then go up the stairs to reach the dining areas. You can also access the dining areas from the beach. It got pretty tedious to have to walk back and forth for our meals.

❌ Average Food Options

The food at Cabo San Lucas was just average. There was a seafood restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant, and a tapas restaurant. In the morning, there was a breakfast buffet. You can also order food from the beach and at the bar in the main building. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian restaurant.

❌ Loud Sea Lions in the Morning

Many people complain about the noise from the sea lions that perch on the docks of the marina, especially during the morning and evenings. I was able to tune them out, but I also prefer to sleep with ear plugs and a white noise machine that drowned them out. We actually enjoyed watching them from our balcony as they fought with each other over spots in the sun.

Would I Stay Here Again?

Absolutely, I’d stay here again. The resort was not crowded, and I did not have any difficulty finding a lounge chair near the pool or one on the beach. The employees were friendly, and there were several options for meals.

FAQs

Wondering if Breathless Cabo San Lucas Resort & Spa is for you? Check out the answers below to the most common questions about the hotel.

Does Breathless Cabo San Lucas have a private beach?

The beach is located in a private, roped-off section of the public beach near the marina in Cabo San Lucas. There is a resort employee at the entrance who will ask for your room number when you enter the beach area. However, the ropes do not prevent locals from selling their wares to those on the first row of lounge chairs.

Are alcoholic beverages included at Breathless Cabo San Lucas?

Yes, alcoholic beverages are included. There is a bar in the first building that provides cocktails, beer, and wine, and there is another bar by the larger swimming pool. You can also order alcoholic beverages at any of the main restaurants or from the beach.

Is the beach at Breathless Cabo San Lucas swimmable?

Yes, there is a swimmable beach at Breathless Cabo San Lucas, which is a rare treat in Cabo since many resorts sit on a rocky shore that doesn’t allow swimming. The water may be cold, but it is safe to swim on this beach.

Which Hyatt is best in Cabo San Lucas?

Breathless Cabo San Lucas is not the only Hyatt hotel or all-inclusive resort in Cabo, Mexico. However, I believe it’s the best cost-effective option (and the only one that has a swimmable beach).

There is only one other Hyatt hotel that is an all-inclusive adults-only resort: Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa. But you cannot swim at the beach because the waves are dangerous and the current is too strong.

The two other all-inclusive Hyatt hotels–Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos and Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa–are open to families and do not have swimmable beaches.

Final Wrap-Up: Book a Stay Today

Breathless Cabo San Lucas offers a vibrant, upscale experience ideal for adults seeking both relaxation and entertainment. With its prime marina location, modern amenities, and beach access, it stands out among all-inclusive resorts. If you’re looking for a lively getaway with luxury touches, this resort is well worth considering.
